At least one in four of us will experience a mental health problem at some point in our life, particularly anxiety or depression. There is a lot of help available, but it can be difficult to know which service is suitable and how to access it.

If you are feeling concerned the best first step is to talk to your doctor (GP) as they can either refer you to a suitable service, or give you information about what else might help. People of all ages can experience emotional distress and you will not be wasting your GP’s time by talking about how you feel. Alternatively there are services that you can contact yourself.
